Food Sensitivity (Intolerance) Testing
What Is It?
Many people experience symptoms after eating certain foods, without realising those foods could be contributing to the problem. This is known as a food sensitivity* or food intolerance.
Food sensitivities are measured by analysing an antibody called Immunoglobulin G (IgG), which can indicate how your immune system responds to different foods.
They can be linked to gut microbiome imbalances and a compromised gut lining, often referred to as ‘leaky gut’. This may allow undigested food particles to pass into the bloodstream, where they trigger an immune response. Over time, this can contribute to inflammation and a wide range of symptoms throughout the body.
The FoodSensitivityMap helps identify foods that may be affecting your body while also providing valuable insight into your digestive health. It analyses your body’s IgG response to over 270 foods and drinks, helping create a personalised plan based on your individual results.
Common Symptoms of Food Sensitivities
They can include, but are not limited to:
- Bloating
- Gas
- Diarrhoea
- Constipation
- IBS***
- Weight gain
- Headaches or migraines
- Eczema
- Rashes
- Acne
- Fatigue or lethargy
- Joint pain
- Respiratory symptoms
How Does It Work?
Our Food Sensitivity test is a simple home to laboratory finger prick testing service, where we will either take the sample in clinic or ship your testing kit direct to your home. The sample is then shipped directly back to YourGutMap’s UK based laboratory and results are back in approximately 10 days.
The test requires a small sample of your blood, which is then examined for specific antibodies or other markers that indicate a reaction to certain foods.
It also includes hs-CRP (high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein) testing, which measures levels of systemic inflammation within the body. This can provide additional insight into low-grade inflammation that may be associated with food sensitivities or other underlying health concerns.
Benefits
Testing helps take the guesswork out of your symptoms by providing a personalised insight into how your body responds to different foods.
Many clients choose this testing to help free themselves of bloating, digestive discomfort, headaches, fatigue, brain fog, skin concerns or inflammation.
Your personalised results can help guide meaningful changes to your diet and lifestyle, supporting your long-term health.
What You'll Recieve
Your Food Sensitivity Test includes a comprehensive report, which includes:
- A personalised analysis of your IgG reactivity to over 270 foods and drinks
- Quantitative results showing your level of reactivity to each food
- A simple colour-coded report highlighting foods to avoid, limit or continue enjoying
- A Total Immune Load Score, indicating your overall food-specific IgG burden
- hs-CRP (systemic inflammation) results
- A personalised nutrition guide with suggested food alternatives
Your results will be explained by Kelly, who will help you understand what they mean and how to apply them to your lifestyle.

A food sensitivity is defined as a food specific IgG response. The reaction is measured through IgG responses to foods to help overcome problems associated with adverse delayed immune reactions to food. Our company does not claim to cure any associated diseases or conditions, and always recommend consulting with a GP before undertaking our testing programmes.
